Unpopular opinion: Watching Ponyo made me feel uncomfortable

I wanted to watch something Ghibli because you know it is calming and makes you happy but it looks like I am too woke for it 😦

So, once I was finished watching it I googled if someone else felt the same way I did.

Umm I found something on Reddit but it didn’t talk about the same thing I was thinking about.

Ponyo and Sosuke are both FIVE years old.

How come no sees problem with this?

Am I the odd one?

How am I supposed to be okay with it?

I mean visuals are also okay.

The mother abandons son during a tsunami, the other mother is okay giving away her five year old to someone if the five year boy promises to love her.

Please explain.
