6 best fantasy Kdramas to watch if you’re new to Kdrama world

It was just a while ago when I was new to Kdrama world and did not know what to watch. Today my to-watch list is longer than my to-do list 😛

Anyway, if squid game was your very first Kdrama then you still have a lot to explore and how about starting with some of the interesting fantasy Kdramas. The thing about Kdramas is that they are well-made, the production value is high, the storyline is well thought of.

Here is my list of 5 fantasy Kdramas to watch:

Goblin

You know him as the salesman but way before that we’ve seen him as Goblin/ Guardian and in the Train to Busan.

The show aired bet Dec 2, 2016 – Jan 21, 2017.

You can watch it on Netflix.

Doom at your service

Starring Park Bo-young and Seo In-guk this series aired on tvN from May 10 to June 29, 2021.

A woman who lost her parents in early age is diagnosed with a brain tumour, forcing her to have less than 100 days to live. As she prays for the destruction of the world, the destruction himself comes to her and live with her for the last 100 days.

You can watch this one on Prime Video: Doom at your service

Tail of nine-tailed

A nine-tailed fox abdicates his position as the guardian mountain spirit of Baekdudaegan to search for the reincarnation of his one true love.

Season two is in talks and we are eagerly waiting for it!

You can watch season 1 on Netflix.

Lee Dong Wook, Kim Bum & Kim So Yeon are extraordinary in this one and they have also confirmed that they are coming back in season 2.

Legend of blue sea

It is funny and swoonworthy and it has Lee Min ho! What more do you want?

A mermaid, Se-hwa, starts following a con man, Joon-jae, who initially helps her out. However, while she tries to adapt to the human world, she finds herself falling in love with him.

You can watch it on netflix.

My love from another star

Do Min-joon is an alien who was stranded on Earth four hundred years ago. Though he is cynical about humans, he gradually changes his views on them when he gets involved with a childish actress.

The first episode aired on 18 December 2013.

You can watch it on Netflix.

Extraordinary you

This is different and when you watch it, it will hit you differently.

When a high-school girl finds that she is merely a character from a comic book whose destiny is decided by the writer, she decides to change the plot to suit her desires and find the love of her life.

The first episode aired on 21 November 2019.

It is my personal favourite from this list.

So, which KDrama are you watching these days?
